PXC 33 event tonight

Pacific Xtreme Combat (PXC) is having their event tonight titled PXC 33 originally headlined by PXC lightweight title fight between Harris Sarmiento vs Jon Tuck. However, Jon Tuck got injured and is replaced by Seung Hwa Han of South Korea.
The Co-main event is a featherweight fight between Mark 'Mugen' Striegl vs Roberto Wusstig. Personally I watched Striegl fight in a Malaysian Figthing Championship (MFC) card before. He was very impressive in that bout and he is still undefeated in his MMA professional career.

Here's a Gif of the Maine-iac getting soccer kick by the Pit bull Andrei Arlovski.

Btw, its a no contest. Illegal strikes because it is not from the open guard. (Ref needs need to give the green light for Soccer kicks to the head)

Koch out, Edgar in

At first I thought some one was bluffing but then came the confirmed news. Frankie Edgar is getting a title shot at 145 Lbs because he is a company man. And also, Erik Koch is injured of course. Fight is schedule for the UFC 153 event on the October 13 in HSBC Arena, Rio de Janeiro.

It seems in the UFC, fortune favours the loyal.

Article from MMA Fighting

Aug 31, 2012 - Frankie Edgar will be getting an immediate title shot when he drops to featherweight after all.

Edgar has replaced Erik Koch in the UFC 153 main event and will face Jose Aldo, MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani has confirmed. USA Today was the first to break the news.

Koch suffered a knee injury recently and was forced to withdraw from the fight, according to Helwani.

Edgar (14-3-1) has lost his past two fights to UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson. He was expected to make his featherweight debut later this year before the injury to Koch.

Koch apologized to his fans on Twitter, stating "I'm sorry guys this has been one crazy year for me deff a hard one, I just wanna thank all of you guys for the support means the world to me."

Aldo (21-1), who has won 14 straight fights, was critical of former UFC champion Edgar recently in an interview with Tatame.

"He said he wants to drop to featherweight, so I'm hoping he does that to end this story," Aldo told Tatame.com. "He's welcome here so that we can shut him off and he goes to the lightweight or bantamweight classes."

UFC 153 is scheduled for Oct. 13 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Dear Bones Jones,

Yours truthfully,

Nick Diaz

GSP cleared

UFC Welterweight King (or co-king) GSP, just got medical clearance. Which means UFC 154 in Montreal most likely will he headlined by the UFC welterweight title unification fight.

What I say about this?

Finally. A sigh of relief.

We get to see the top of the food chain welterweight face each other. Interesting to see can Carlos Condit dominate GSP in the stand up department. If it was a muay thai fight I'll go with Condit. His stance is primarily muay thai but GSP is a solid boxer (Ask Josh Koscheck) and has that Karate background.

Truthfully, I am not really interested in this fight, well maybe a little. I want to watch the next bout or what might be the next bout. I pray that GSP win or lose will call out Nick Diaz. Seriously, everyone wants to watch that fight. If it is not that fight then maybe a fight with either Johnny Hendricks or The Waterboy Rory MacDonald (Yes, The waterboy. No Aeries crap) or maybe even a fight between Hendricks and MacDonald for the no. 1 contender.

Ohh well that's just a ranting of a keyboard warrior and a MMA fan :)

One FC 5: Pride of a Nation promo videos

Enomoto vs Folayang

Pulver vs Kelly

Fernandes vs Falciroli

Arlovski vs Sylvia

One Fighting Championship: Pride of a nation

This Friday 31st August live from Smart Araneta Coliseum, Manila, One Fighting Championship presents One FC 5: Pride of a Nation

This is an extremely stacked card with Tobikan Judan Aoki headlining with a to be determined opponent while we have two former UFC champions battling each other for the fourth time and a third former UFC champion making his début for ONE FC.

It seems like the One FC 5 is a family ordeal with three Gracie family members fighting in the same card. It may well be a first not only in MMA but in fighting to have three family members  to fight on the same night.

The MMA scene in the Philippines is one of the biggest in South East Asia with the presence of fight promotion such as the URCC and XFC long before the inception of the ONE FC. Hence, the depth of MMA talent in the Philippines is deeper than most of the SEA countries with established name such as Eduard Folayang and Eric Kelly who will be fighting on the 31st against Felipe Enomoto and Jens Pulver respectively.

This is an extremely good card and I can't wait for it.

More updates are coming  soon

Kudos

Fight Week: UFC 150

UFC 150 is on this week from Denver, Colorado.

The main event is a lightweight title rematch between Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar. Edgar lost his title to Smooth when the first fought in UFC 144 6 months ago. A good title fight in my book because both guys are really top of their game. Both have strong wrestling background however Ben is the bigger of the 2 and is far more athletic. Frankie however has the heart and the foot speed and movement to match his lionheart. I dare not make any predictions but I want to pose a question, what's next for Frankie if he loses? dropping down to featherweight I presume?

The co-main event of the evening would pit former team-mates.  Donald 'The Cowboy' Cerrone vs Melvin 'The Young Assassin' Guillard. Melvin who was previously under the tutelage of Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn has now moved from Albuquerque to Florida to join the Blackzillians. Rashad Evans current camp. The move was more of a mutual move rather than a bitter one (Evans-Jones drama). Cerrone is fighting in his home town. That is one major motivation to perform and win. This fight will be a slugfest. Heavy leg kicks from the cowboy and big punches from the young assassin. Predictions? I say Cerrone by RNC in the 3rd round. I don't know how much Melvin has improve from moving camps but the cowboy is just more well rounded in all aspects of the game.

I think I have said so much so its time to let the guys do their talking

ONE FC: Pride of a Nation (WARRRRRR!!!)

I dare to say that the Philippines is the hottest place to be for a South East Asian(SEA)MMA fighter. MMA has been around before ONE FC started and is well represented by Universal Ring Combat Championship (URCC) hence the plethora of fighters coming out from the Philippines. Not to forget a couple of UFC stars who are filipino descent i.e. Brandon Vera and Mark Munoz.

It was not a complete surprise that ONE FC decided to come to the Philippines. I have a feeling that the Philippines is going to be what Brazil is to the UFC. Contribute with high volume of top class talent and also provide a huge following for ONE FC. Rumours have been spread around about the fight card and I can't wait for it to be confirmed While we wait, the guys form ONE FC has made this to keep us wanting for more

 Kudos
